The disciplines
Trick
In tricks, skiers have one round to showcase their skills. On the long side of the course, they may start performing tricks as soon as the rope is around the wheel. Each trick has a predetermined point value, and points are only awarded if the trick is correctly executed according to the judges. The skier with the highest total score wins.
Slalom
In slalom the goal is to ski around all six buoys, including the exit buoy just after the sixth one. After completing a full pass, the cable speed increases by 3 km/h in the next round. For men the maximum speed is 58 km/h and for women 55 km/h. Once this maximum speed is reached, the rope is shortened each round. The skier who achieves the highest speed with the shortest rope wins.
Jump
In jump, the ramp can be set at different heights, with a maximum of 1.65 m for women and 1.80 m for men. Skiers choose their own speed, up to a maximum of 54 km/h for women and 57 km/h for men. Each skier has three attempts to jump as far as possible. The longest jump determines the winner.
